Building Bridges

Isolation is a quiet beast that sneaks up on us and before we know it, we find ourselves alone with no one in sight. There are a multitude of ways that we find ourselves isolated. For some, isolation is their calling of sacredness. For others, however, if we stop and question about how we arrived at this place of loneliness and separation, perhaps there's at least one answer.

One of the reasons could be laying in a distant corner of our mind...bridges. Our mental landscape is littered with bridges that have collapsed around us because of things that have happened. However, upon further inspection of the bridges, it appears there has been some sabotage.

We, as saboteurs burned some of those bridges down. Sometimes,we are the cause of our own isolation. Sabotage efforts such as jealously of others, spreading gossip, discrimination, undermining loved ones, being disrespectful, disloyalty, mean spirited, etc.

Bridges of life are meant to connect people together. When all the bridges have collapsed, we are alone on an island. To get off this island, we need to start building bridges from our island in order to connect to those that lost trust in us. Trust, like bridges, are not built overnight but over time with dedication, honesty and understanding..

We start by laying down one piece of earned trust at a time. Now, that's a bridge worth building.
